Guernsey Excavation June 2014
June 14, 2014 @ 8:00 am - June 20, 2014 @ 5:00 pm
Situated just below the tide line on Guernsey’s west coast is a curious stone feature, first noticed by a local man in 1996. A photo appeared in a new book a few years later which was when we followed it up and surveyed the site. An evaluation report was subsequently submitted by us to the Guernsey States archaeologist with a recommendation to do further work. This was agreed and now the club will conduct an excavation this June 2014. We hope to find more evidence to support our provisional view that this feature could be a prehistoric chambered monument and possibly a small passage grave.
